Angela Woodward, a landscape architect, has joined RBF Con-sulting’s Irvine office. Woodward has more than 20 years experience in project management, design and construction administration in landscape architecture, planning and construction.

AUTOMOTIVE

Gary Van Houten has joined Kia Motors America Inc. as director of sales operations at the company’s U.S. headquarters in Irvine. Van Houten has more than 20 years experience in the automotive industry.

BANKING

First Banc Home Mortgage Inc. has appointed Richard Reid senior vice president and regional manager. He will be based out of First Banc’s Newport Beach office. The company also promoted Cheryl Miller to assistant first president.

BUSINESS SERVICES

Business services provider SM & A; has appointed Bennett C. Beaudry as its chief operating officer. Beaudry has been with SM & A; for two years, and was the company’s vice president for consulting services. SM & A; provides competition management services, and is a provider of program support and consulting services.

Lee Hecht Harrison’s Irvine office has appointed Terri Lester vice president of business development. She previously served as vice president of sales for Classic Cus-tom Vacations.

RemedyTemp Inc., which operates as Remedy Intelligent Staffing, has announced that Alan Purdy, its senior vice president and chief financial officer, will retire at year’s end. The company has started a search for a successor.

HEALTHCARE

Jeffrey Edwards, corporate vice president for corporate development at Allergan Inc., has joined Irvine-based Ista Pharmaceuti-cals Inc.’s board of directors. George Lasezkay, who previously served on the board as a representative of Allergan, will continue to serve as a director of Ista.

LAW

Attorney Christopher Day was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame of Western State University College of Law. The school’s hall of fame recognizes graduates who have practiced law for at least a decade and who have made contributions to the legal profession and to the community.

Debbie L. Miede, formerly a partner at Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly, has joined Buchalter, Nemer, Fields & Younger’s Newport Beach office. Miede has more than 20 years experience as a litigator and trial attorney. The Newport Beach office’s litigation group has also hired Kalley Aman, a graduate of Lewis and Clark School of Law; Christopher Deal, a graduate of Loyola Law School; and Suzanne Burke, a graduate of Fordham University.

MARKETING

Open Minds Agency has hired four new employees. William Moore, a media buyer, moved from DDB Needham Worldwide in Los Angeles. Mary Dunlap has joined as the agency’s creative coordinator. Pamela Tanner was hired as traffic manager and Ken Duncan joined the agency as an office assistant.

PUBLIC WORKS

Willdan’s Orange County regional office has appointed David L. Hunt its senior vice president and regional manager. Hunt has worked for Willdan for 17 years. Willdan provides engineering, planning and financial management services to public agencies.

RESTAURANTS

Bill Allen, co-founder of Newport Beach-based Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, has been appointed chief executive of premium concepts for Outback Steakhouse Inc. Allen also has been appointed president of Roy’s, a restaurant chain serving Hawaiian fus-ion cuisine.

Scott McQuown has been appointed senior real estate manager for Irvine-based El Pollo Loco Inc. He will identify and secure new restaurant locations for the Mexican chain.

SOFTWARE

Irvine-based Optima Information Solutions has named Jeanne Flynn Martin senior vice president. She will accelerate growth of new projects and technologies for the company, which provides customized information-of-record reports on properties nationwide.

Jon Goldman Associates Inc., which provides software for the semiconductor industry, promoted Shlomo “Sol” Sofer to director of marketing, Bill Pate to controller and Dat Le to software manager.

UTILITY

Sean Coplen has been named senior vice president of sales operations for Santa Ana-based National Water & Power. Christopher Clayton will serve as vice president of sales for the company’s western region. Robert Esposito will lead company sales efforts in the east as vice president of sales for the eastern region.
