KPMG LLP elected Paul G. Short and Tina M. Stoliar to partners. Short joined the firm in 1994. Stoliar joined in 1998. Both are set to work out of the Costa Mesa office.
ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT
Ethan Stiefel was named artistic director designate for Ballet Pacifica in Irvine. Stiefel is principal dancer with the American Ballet and has appeared in movies, on TV and at appearances worldwide.
FINANCE
Costa Mesa-based RSM EquiCo added Jean Cayanni as senior managing director of global relations. Cayanni has more than three decades of experience in investment banking and finance, a large portion of which was with Banc of America Securities overseeing its strategy with top clients in the chemical industry.
Retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Paul A. Weaver joined the board of advisers of Pacific Summit Securities in Irvine, where he will provide his expertise in the defense and homeland security sectors of the market.
GOVERNMENT
Robin Lynn Clauson became city attorney for Newport Beach. Clauson previously was assistant city attorney for Newport Beach
for the past 14 years. She has a legal
background in general municipal, planning, public works, personnel and city administration.
HEALTHCARE
LifeMasters Supported SelfCare Inc., a disease management company in Irvine, named Debra L. Morris as chief financial officer and Derek Newell to the newly created position of senior vice president of client relationships. Morris, a partner with Tatum CGO Partners LLP, had been interim chief financial officer there since May. Newell was promoted from vice president of commercial accounts.
INSURANCE
Compensation Risk Managers of California LLC named Edward Low as claims account coordinator for California at its Irvine office. Low’s experience is in workers’ compensation as a claims examiner. He previously worked for the State Compensation Insurance Fund in Los Angeles and with Fremont Compensation Insurance Co. in Glendale.
MARKETING
San Clemente-based K-COMM named Jena Evans director of public relations. Evans
most recently was account executive at
Costa Mesa-based Rodheim Marketing Group.
Ana Park joined Irvine-based The Skiver Group as graphic designer. Park brings several years of experience to the position.
NONPROFIT
California Elwyn, the Fountain Valley agency that assists adults with disabilities to find employment, appointed John Angevine to its board. Angevine is the regional merchandising manager for Hyundai Motor America Inc. in Fountain Valley.
Nancy Palo was promoted from events manager to director of special events and Janice Hoover was added as volunteer resources manager at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Orange County chapter. Hoover received the chapter’s 2004 Volunteer of the Year award.
Retired physician and former chief of staff of United Western Medical Centers John O. Strong was elected chairman of the HealthCare Foundation for Orange County. Strong succeeds Marven E. Howard. William Stannard was elected vice president and treasurer. J. Fernando Niebla, founder and current chief executive officer of International Technology Partners, was elected secretary.
And Zelma “Zee” Allred, president of Pool Water Products, is the first emeritus board member. The Foundation provides grants, support training and technical assistance to hospitals, clinics and community-based groups that offer health services to poor families in OC.
REAL ESTATE
James Gilly was named president of Irvine-based Western National Contractors, part of Western National Group, an apartment manager and development company. Prior to rejoining the company, Gilly served as senior vice president of construction for Embrey Partners of Texas.
Los Angeles-based KB Home named Kate Klimow local government affairs director for its inland valley and coastal divisions. Kli-mow will split her time between the company’s Irvine and Pomona offices.
RESTAURANTS
Joe Senger was promoted from senior director of marketing to vice president of marketing at Lake Forest-based Del Taco Inc. Senger joined the company in 2000.
TECHNOLOGY
Santa Ana-based Compushare Inc., a provider of technology services to community banks, named Rudy Campos director of organizational development. Campos rejoined the company after working at Vector ESP as account manager in Houston.
