ACCOUNTING

Ralph C. Kuhen has been promoted to partner-in-charge of Hein + Associates LLP’s Southern California office in Orange. The firm also promoted Scott D. Appel director of audit operations in the same location.

ARCHITECTURE

Long Beach-based Per-kowitz + Ruth Architects named Rick Overley senior associate of the firm. Overley currently serves as project director. He works out of the firm’s Newport Beach office.

Dennis Edgett has joined Aliso Viejo-based Gillings + Good-Man Architects LLP as senior project architect.

BANKING

Los Angeles-based National Bank of California has named officers for its new Costa Mesa office: Peggy Wilson, regional vice president; Jerry Votava, vice president and business banking officer; Patty McAdams, vice president and business banking officer and Cheryl Vargas, operations officer.

BUSINESS SERVICES

Kirkland, Wash.-based Who’s Calling Inc., a call measurement and monitoring services company, has hired Monte B. Zator executive director of national accounts in the company’s Irvine office. Zator will be responsible for developing the company’s original-equipment-manufacturer business.

CONSTRUCTION

Kelly Klaus has been appointed director of operation for Fieldstone Home Services, a new company launched by Newport Beach-based Fieldstone Communities Inc. Klaus will be responsible for developing service plans and products, marketing and staffing.

Irvine-based Datasphere Inc. has named John Fithian authorized sales agent to the West Coast sales division. Fithian will be responsible for new power projects. He has been a consultant with the group since 1999.

DINING

Chef and restaurateur Zov Karamardian, ow-ner of Zov’s Bistro in Tustin, has been ap-pointed to the national advisory board of the James Beard Foun-dation. The nonprofit group provides scholarships.

HOTEL

Denise R. McConnell has been named sales manager for the new Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa, which is under construction. McConnell was sales manager at the Hyatt Regency Irvine.

LAW

Irvine-based JAMS, an alternative dispute resolution service, has added David M. Rothman to its panel of resolution experts. Rothman served as supervising judge of the West District of Los Angeles Superior Court. JAMS has also named attorney Michael J. Roberts to its panel. Roberts has practiced alternative dispute resolution full time at a private-dispute resolution service in San Diego and Orange County since 1993.

MANUFACTURING

David Berlin has joined Lake Forest-based Quality Imaging Products as chief financial officer. Berlin will be responsible for overall financial and accounting activities. He previously was controller for Los Angeles-based Paramount Farms Inc.

MARKETING

Fountain Valley-based ocdm marketing Co. has hired Michael L. Mattos as director of sales. Mattos will oversee hiring and training. Additionally, ocdm has named Ginger S. Perez director of marketing. Perez will focus on gaining industry and client exposure.

Karin Pellman has joined Renaissance Creative Group as senior manager of its Lake Forest office. Pellman was with Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide/Los Angeles. She will work with current clients.

Orange County’s United Way has promoted Susan Caumiant vice president of marketing and Carla Vargas Rivas to vice president of community campaigns. Caumiant will be responsible for setting marketing direction and managing collateral development. Vargas Rivas manages community fundraising efforts through corporate and private foundation grant writing.
