ASSOCIATIONS

The Computing Technology Industry Association elected the following people to its board: Brian D. Wiser, senior vice president of sales and vendor management for Ingram Micro Inc. in Santa Ana; and Oli Thordarson, chief executive of Alvaka Networks in Huntington Beach.


CONSTRUCTION

Roel Construction’s Irvine office promoted Mike Renna from senior project manager to group manager. Phil Levesque was promoted to senior project manager. Roel also promoted Deacon Markey and David Samundio to project engineers.


EDUCATION

Carlos Leija was elected to the executive committee of the California State University System Alumni Council as alumni directors’ representative. He is executive director of alumni relations at California State University, Fullerton and a Titan alumnus.


ENGINEERING

Vandorpe Chou Associates in Orange promoted three employees. Abraham Blunda was named vice president of the mixed-use design division. Mark Van Gaale was promoted to vice president of the low-density residential division. Shahla Soltani became vice president of construction administration.


FINANCE

Autostar, a subsidiary of iStar Financia Inc., named Erin P. Kerrigan vice president for the Western U.S. She will manage sourcing, underwriting and closing of loans as well as sale and leaseback transactions for the region.

John Rissling was named director of wholesale lending at Newport Beach-based Downey Savings, a unit of Downey Financial Corp. He has 14 years of experience in mortgage lending.

Lisa Cockrill joined Resource Financial, which offers wealth management and employee benefits services, in Anaheim as a relationship manager. She has 13 years of experience in employee benefits.


HEALTHCARE

Oroscience Inc. in Dove Canyon named Chuck Scarano executive vice president. He will manage global sales, marketing and business development. He previously was senior vice president of worldwide marketing at Irvine medical device maker Cardiogenesis Corp.


MANUFACTURING

Progressive Lighting & Energy Solutions Inc. in Tustin named William C. Tauber chief executive and promoted Randy J. Parole to president. Tauber founded the company in 2004. He also owned TSN Marketing and was president of a midsize cable network. Parole joined the company in 2006 as executive vice president. He has 27 years of experience working with businesses to improve lighting and energy consumption.


NONPROFIT

Big Brothers Big Sisters of OC added the following people to its board: Chris Bull, cofounder and managing director of McDermott & Bull in Irvine; Murray Joslin, managing director of Browne & Co; and Todd Walkow, an orthodontist in Newport Beach.

The Red Cross of OC added three local members to its board: Cathy Holliday, a former executive in technology sales and marketing; John Sorenson, a director of operations and general manager for Clear World Communications in Santa Ana; and Hao-Nhien Vu, vice president and managing editor of Westminster-based Nguoi Viet Daily News, the largest daily Vietnamese newspaper outside Vietnam.


PRINTING & GRAPHICS

Myprint Corp. added Craig Hath as senior vice president of account services for eTools LLC, the company’s print management software division. Hath has 29 years of experience in professional sales and leadership in print, paper and distribution.


REAL ESTATE

Dan Young was promoted to president of The Irvine Company’s Irvine Community Development. Tony Russo was promoted to group senior vice president of corporate affairs. And Gregory Lindstrom joined as head of the legal team at the Irvine Co. He comes from Latham & Watkins and a 25-year career as a litigator.


SPORTS

Jamal Spears was hired as the senior manager of media sales at Anaheim Arena Management, the management company for the Honda Center and the Anaheim Ducks. Guy Tomcheck was promoted and transferred from a season seat account executive to media sales manager.


TRANSPORTATION

Beth McCormick was named general manager of transit at the Orange County Transportation Authority. She has over 25 years of experience in the transportation industry.
