ASSOCIATIONS

Eduardo L. Jordan of San Clemente was elected president of the Orange County/Long Beach chapter of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants for 2006-07. Jordan previously was the chapter’s first vice president.

AUTOMOTIVE

Santa Ana-based Line-X Spray-On Truck Bedliners appointed Nelma FitzGerald as vice president of marketing and Terry Eubanks as vice president of operations.

BANKING

South County Bank hired Jeanette Navarro as new accounts representative at the Rancho Santa Margarita branch. Prior to South County Bank, Navarro worked for Bank of America Corp.

Farmers & Merchants Bank named Dana Loughridge assistant vice president and loan officer of its San Juan Capistrano office. Prior to Farmers & Merchant’s Bank, Loughridge worked as a credit analyst with American Security Bank.

CONSULTING

Hogle-Ireland Inc., a land planning and development consulting firm, promoted Mike Thiele and David Lepo and added Ron Pflugrath in the Irvine office. Thiele was promoted to partner. Lepo was promoted to principal, and Pflugrath was hired as a senior project manager.

Atlanta-based Tatum LLC, an executive services and consulting firm, hired Frank Schools, James Sorensen and Robert Trebing as partners in its Irvine office.

EDUCATION

The University of California, Irvine, named John C. Hemminger, a chemistry professor and former department chair, dean of the School of Physical Sciences. Hemminger is the founding director of the Institute for Surface and Interface Science, which brings together chemists, engineers, physicists and biologists to study surface interactions.

The Art Institute of California-Orange County hired Brian Arnold as academic director. Arnold is in charge of the new Visual & Game Programming academic program, as well as the school’s Game Art & Design program.

Kori Lee Garner joined the South Orange County Community College District in Mission Viejo as media and marketing specialist. Garner is principal and owner of Kori Lee and Associates, an Irvine-based public relations agency.

NONPROFIT

Carla Cammack and Karen Wolett were elected co-chairs of the 15th annual Komen Orange County Race for the Cure. Cammack and Wolett will coordinate, organize and oversee the breast cancer fund-raising event, set to take place late September.

Sonja Garcia was appointed to the board of the Alzheimer’s Association, Orange County. Garcia currently is chief executive of four residential homes in North Tustin known as Guardian Angels Homes.

PUBLIC RELATIONS

The Irvine office of MWW Group, a public relations firm, named Kristine Snyder senior account supervisor. Snyder joins MWW Group from Epson America Inc., where she was public relations assistant manager.

REAL ESTATE

The Southern California chapter of CoreNet Global, an association for corporate real estate and related professionals, elected several people to its board. Dennis Potts, principal of design and construction consulting services for the Staubach Co. in Irvine, was elected to president. He and chairperson Debra Okamoto, real estate and property management manager of Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc., will share leadership responsibilities for the year. John Clement of Venture Point in Newport Beach was elected treasurer. Melinda Hall-Wood of LNR Property Corp. in Newport Beach was elected secretary. Francis Pawlak of Herman Miller in Costa Mesa was elected to lead the ambassador committee. Elise Luckman of New Century Mortgage was elected vice president.

Chris Meagher was named managing director of Project Solutions Group’s Western regional office in Irvine. Project Solutions Group is a project management company hired by public and private sector clients to manage creating facilities.
