ACCOUNTING

Stonefield Josephson Inc. appointed Theresa Matonak as information technology director. Matonak, who will be based out of the company’s Santa Monica office, also will work part time at the Irvine office.

ARCHITECTURE

Gus Awayjan was promoted to associate from project manager of the hospitality studio at the Newport Beach office of Alameda-based MBH Architects Inc.

ARTS

Michael S. Gordon was elected chairman of the board at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa after having served as chairman designate since March. Gordon is chairman of Irvine-based StoneCreek Capital Inc., a private equity investment bank. He succeeds the center’s former chairman, Paul F. Folino of Emulex Corp.

BANKING

Comerica Bank, part of Detroit-based Comerica Inc., promoted Mike Dokmanovich to executive vice president and head of middle market banking in Southern California. Dokmanovich previously was senior vice president and regional manager for the middle market division in Los Angeles. He will work out of the L.A. and Orange County offices. David K. Skolnik was named executive vice president and regional managing director for the Western division at Comerica’s wealth and institutional management division. Skolnik will split his time between L.A. and OC.

CONSULTING

Challenger Gray & Challenger Inc., an outplacement consultant, added Susan Guenther as vice president at its Newport Beach office. Guenther will mange the OC and San Diego offices. She most recently helped establish educationtrak.com, a Newport Beach-based online subscription service.

ENTERTAINMENT

Anaheim Arena Management LLC and the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim hired eight people and promoted 20 workers after Henry and Susan Samueli purchased the Mighty Ducks. The new hires are: Janet Conley, executive assistant; Alex Evezich, sponsorships and service manager; Nate Gardner, information technology associate; Richard Jasik, research and development coordinator; Lisa Johnson, director of ticket sales and service; Kim Kutcher, director of human resources; Greg Rieber, senior sales manager; and Wendy Yamagishi, director of community relations and public affairs. Anaheim Arena Management oversees the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim.

INSURANCE

Brett Borisoff was named president of the commercial insurance division of Countrywide Insurance Services Inc., a unit of Calabasas-based Countrywide Financial Corp. Borisoff will work from the division’s Irvine office.

INTERIOR DESIGN

The Southern California chapter of the International Interior Design Association named the following to its board: Rita Brown of the facilities department at Newport Beach’s Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian; Judy Deaton of the Interior Designers Institute in Newport Beach; Steve Francis of the Steve Francis Association in Costa Mesa; Lynn Haims and Jeanne Wright of Santa Fe-based Ingram Interiors, which has an office in Santa Ana; and Nichole Todd of the Newport Beach office of Gensler.

LAW

Greenberg Traurig LLP added Bradley D. Blanche as of counsel in the intellectual property practice group at its Costa Mesa office. Blanche’s specialty is patents and trademarks.

Mary A. Salamone was named partner at the Los Angeles office of Peckar & Abramson PC. Salamone lives in OC and brings a two-decade career in construction law to the position.

Pierce & Weiss LLP added Rickee Stewart, whose specialty is subrogation recovery and insurance coverage, at its Anaheim office. Patricia Gomez, who attends Trinity Law School, joined the same office as law clerk.

NONPROFIT

The Irvine Chamber of Commerce hired Jim Hansen as vice president of business and economic development. Hansen formerly was director of economic development for the city of El Segundo.

PUBLIC RELATIONS

Dave Holscher became vice president of public relations at San Clemente-based Kanatsiz Communica-tions Inc. Holscher most recently was with the Phelps Group as team leader.

REAL ESTATE

Snyder Langston, a builder and developer of commercial and industrial real estate, promoted four people at its Irvine headquarters: Steve Nelson to senior vice president; Rick Cavecche and Matt Vujovich to group vice presidents; and John Gunther to project executive.
