ASSOCIATIONS
The Orange County chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association selected San Clemente resident W. Ronald Redmond as a board member. Redmond is an orthodontist with several practices in California and one in Seattle.
The Orange County Council of the American Electronics Association added five people to the council’s executive committee: Peter Craig as chairman, Charlie Sundling as vice chair, and Raymond Cohen, Kevin McDonald and James Peterson as committee members.
Angela Woodward was named president of the Southern California chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects in Tustin. Woodward is a senior associate and landscape architect at the Irvine office of RBF Consulting, an engineering firm.
The Orange County chapter of the California Landscape Contractors Association appointed two people to its board: Anna Tellez as vice president of events and Andrew Baker as a director. Tellez is president of Santa Ana-based Superior Outdoor Lighting. Baker is an account manager at the Santa Ana office of Ewing Irrigation Products.
CONSTRUCTION
The Newport Beach office of Cannon Constructors Inc. appointed Grace Anicete as project manager. Anicete has 10 years of experience in construction management.
EDUCATION
Kevin Landry joined the Anaheim office of New Horizons of Southern California, a provider of technology training, as general manager. Landry previously was vice president of sales and operations at LaunchPad Communications LLC in Los Angeles.
Santa Ana-based Corinthian Colleges Inc. named Richard Lee Cochran Jr. as executive vice president of admissions. Cochran has more than 20 years of experience in large sales operations in post-secondary education, educational publishing and information technology.
The South Orange County Community College District in Mission Viejo added Michael O’Meara as graphic designer in the district’s office of marketing and public affairs. Prior to joining, O’Meara was a designer at Hobbs/
Herder Advertising in Newport Beach.
ENGINEERING
DL Engineering & Controls Inc., a water and wastewater management company in Irvine, hired John Hopson as a programming senior project manager and John Koppa as a programming project manager.
GOVERNMENT
Michael Merino was appointed as a board trustee of the Orange County Vector Control by the city of Orange. Merino is principal and chief executive of Michael Merino Architects in Orange.
HEALTHCARE
Coastal Kids, a pediatric services provider with facilities in Newport Beach and Laguna Niguel, hired three pediatricians: Elizabeth O’Connell, Joseph Apostol and Larissa Isterabadi. O’Connell and Isterabadi are based in the Newport Beach office. Apostol works between the Newport Beach and Laguna Niguel offices.
Farzan Rajput joined Pacific Coast Cardiology, a facility at the Pacific Coast Imaging & Heart Institute in Newport Beach, as a non-invasive cardiologist specializing in advanced cardiac

HOTEL
Balboa Bay Club & Resort in Newport Beach named Sandy Aarons as national sales manager. Aarons previously was regional sales manager of Pala Mesa Resort in Fallbrook.
Sebastien Silvestri joined the Island Hotel Newport Beach as director of restaurants. Silvestri previously was general manager of Sensi restaurant in the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Shannon Russell was promoted to senior sales manager at the Sheraton Anaheim Hotel.

The Irvine office of UnionBanc Insurance Services Inc., a subsidiary of Union Bank of California, hired Mike McMullen, Cindy Henry and Penny Crowder as vice presidents of the energy and construction division.

Orange-based MarChem Pacific, a member of MarChem Chemical Group of Dash Multi-Corp Inc., added Veronica Hernandez as production manager. Hernandez has more than 15 years of experience in production planning and logistics.

NetScope Inc. in Irvine hired Court Collier as creative lead and James Dolan as director of search engine marketing. Collier previously was president of Collier Design and has eight years of experience in graphics and Web site design. Dolan previously was search engine marketing manager for Contiki Holidays.
NONPROFIT
Elizabeth Weldon was named president of Friends of Read/Orange County, the nonprofit volunteer and fund-raising arm of Read/Orange County, which is a provider of literacy services for the Orange County Public Library. Weldon is an attorney at the Costa Mesa office of Snell & Wilmer LLP.
The Irvine Barclay Theatre elected six board members: Gary Singer as chairman and Robert Farnsworth, Skip Johnson, DeeDee Jones, Patricia Murphy and Alyce Nelson as directors.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Orange County and the Inland Empire elected 15 board members: David Miller, Louis Berlin, Rob Gundling, Scott Gladstone, Alan Shelton, Danny Wexler, Ed Reno, Jon Storbeck, Mauricio Zavala, Phil Romero, Tino Pagano, Todd Bruechert, Gretchen Sheckler, Marcia Schwartz and Resa Evans.

LendingTree Loans in Irvine promoted Mike Nguyen to director of sales in the equity lending division and Jess Smith to director of sales for first mortgage loans. The company also hired Suzanne Brown as director of sales recruiting and David Norris as vice president of corporate quality.
Brea-based ResMae Mortgage Corp. appointed Jeffrey Beckwith as executive vice president of capital markets and John Stumpf as senior vice president of finance. Prior to joining, Beckwith was senior vice president, managing director and partner of CBA Receivables LLC. Stumpf previously was vice president of finance and treasurer for Anaheim’s DDi Corp.

David Hastie was promoted to director in the catering and events division of the Memphis Group in Costa Mesa. Hastie joined the company in 2005 as general manager of two restaurants, Memphis Cafe in Costa Mesa and Memphis at the Santora in Santa Ana. He will continue as general manager.

Anaheim Arena Management LLC, the management company of the Honda Center, formerly Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim, hired David Geck as assistant security manager and Mariana Stoopen as graphic design coordinator.
TECHNOLOGY
Craig Call & #233; was appointed vice president and treasurer of Gateway Inc. in Irvine. Call & #233; joined the company in June as vice president of finance for the professional and direct segments, and will retain that position.
