ARCHITECTURE

Dennis L. Bonds was promoted from senior project manager to president of Perlman Architects Inc. of California, where he will oversee operations at its Newport Beach office. Bonds has more than 30 years of architectural experience.

Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo Inc., an architecture firm, named Perry Brown vice president. Brown joined the firm in 1992 and currently serves as managing director for the Newport Beach and Orlando offices.

CONSTRUCTION

Mark A. Thurman joined Lake Forest-based ARB Inc. as vice president of ARB Structures, which specializes in structural concrete installations. Thurman serves as national director for The Associated General Contractors of America, a group of construction contractors and related companies. He has 29 years of experience in the industry and most recently was president of Pepper Construction in Irvine.

EDUCATION

Saddleback College in Mission Viejo named Maria Besnard director of student affairs. Besnard comes from California State Univ-ersity, Long Beach, where she served for 14 years in several leadership positions.

ENVIRONMENT

Jerry King became a managing partner at the Mission Viejo office of St. Paul, Minn.-based EMA Inc., a management and technology consulting firm. King’s background includes utility-governmental relations, strategic planning, land-use analysis and project management. In addition, he served as board member, chairman and adviser to several governmental agencies that determine and regulate Southern California water quality.

HEALTHCARE

Lake Forest-based MediPhysics Pain Centers of America Inc. hired Gabriel Bergman as chief financial officer. Bergman formerly was managing partner of Orange Grove Ventures LLC and the Orange Grove Technology Fund LP.

Jeffrey Katz was named vice president, legal affairs at SmileCare/Community Dental Services Inc. in Santa Ana. Prior to joining SmileCare, Katz was director of regulatory affairs for PacifiCare Health Systems Inc. in Cypress.

LAW

Michelle Hodges and James J. Moloney were named partners at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. Hodges and Moloney are members of the corporate transactions and securities practice group at the firm’s Irvine office.

MARKETING

Ben Wicke was named project manager at The Peterson Group in Newport Beach. Prior to joining the company, Wicke was marketing manager for an Orange County-based yellow pages company.

NONPROFIT

Make-A-Wish Foundation of Orange County and the Inland Empire named six new directors to its board: Todd Bruechert, director of marketing for Disneyland Resort’s 50th Anniversary; Resa Evans, president and chief executive at Kid Company Preschool, Kid Town, U.S.A. Preschool; Paul Hosea, chief executive at The Designory Inc.; Carlo Moyano, president and chief executive at JCM Engineering Corp.; Phil Romero, chief executive at Century 21 Superstars; and Mauricio Zavala, president of Orbit Printing.

REAL ESTATE

Santa Ana-based J.L. Hare Associates, a permit and entitlement management company, promoted Phil Coughlin from senior project manager of construction to vice president, and added Jason Finnell as assistant project manager.

A. Martin Stradtman joined Grubb & Ellis Co.’s Newport Beach office as vice president with its industrial group. Stradtman most recently was with Zuvich Cannon Associates and currently serves in numerous industry and community organizations.

American Land Title Association, based in Washington, D.C., re-elected Gary L. Kermott to its board of governors and appointed him as chair of the title insurance underwriters section. Kermott is president of First American Title Insurance Co., part of Santa Ana-based First American Corp.

The Irvine Company’s retail properties unit added three people to its leasing department: Kim Webster and Katherine Van Deusen as leasing directors for Irvine Spectrum Center, and Tamera De Gennaro as leasing manager for Irvine neighborhood and community centers.
