O’Connor Named OCTFCU Chairman

Orange County Teachers Federal Credit Union elected Adam O’Connor (photo) as chairman of its board.



O’Connor, previously vice chairman of the credit union’s board, is an accounting professor at Fullerton College.

He has served on the credit union board’s executive, finance and risk management committees.

As chairman, O’Connor is set to direct policy, monitor performance and oversee the credit union’s goals.

With more than $4 billion in assets and nearly 300,000 members, OCTFCU is the largest credit union in the county.

“We will focus on serving our existing members and expanding into potential members who are eligible but not yet members of our credit union,” O’Connor said.

At Fullerton Col-lege, O’Connor has served as the director of budget and finance for the past 12 years.

He has a master’s in business administration from Calif-ornia State Univ-ersity, Long Beach, and is a certified public accountant.

He and wife Deborah live in Orange.

Along with O’Connor, Dr. Arthur Croisette, Lynn April Hartline and John Didion were re-elected to serve as members of the board for OCTFCU. Each will serve a three-year term.

APPAREL & ACCESSORIES

Shoemaker EMU Australia added Peter “PT” Townend to its North American team, which is in San Clemente. Townend, a former world champion surfer, will serve as brand manager for EMU.

ARCHITECTURE

Los Angeles-based Nadel Architects Inc.’s Costa Mesa office promoted Dawn Dimond and Ricky Valdez to associates of its retail division. Dimond is a member of the firm’s entitlement and preliminary site design team. Valdez joined the retail division at Nadel in 2001.

FINANCE

Fair Isaac Corp., a Minneapolis-based developer of credit scoring systems, appointed Kimberly Wiswell to vice president, insurance service bureau operations. Wiswell will be based out of Fair Isaac’s Irvine office.

INSURANCE

Irvine-based insurance brokerage R.E. Chaix & Associates appointed Robbie J. McKinney as an underwriter and broker. McKinney has more than 20 years of experience and previously was with Orion Risk in Corona.

Ralph Molyneux was added to Irvine-based GSM Insurance Serv-ices as vice president. Molyneux’s practice focuses on property, casualty and environmental insurance for commercial and industrial risks.

LAW

Marguerite P. Battersby joined the public agency and municipal law practice group of Los Angeles-based Richards, Watson & Gershon as senior attorney. Battersby will work out of the firm’s office in Brea. She will also be a member of the water rights practice group at the firm.

NONPROFIT

Tim McSunas, director of community development for Los Angeles-based Pardee Homes, was appointed as a member of the board

at HomeAid Orange County, which is in Irvine. HomeAid is the charitable arm of the Building Industry Assoc-iation of Southern California.

REAL ESTATE

The Meeker Cos., a developer and homebuilder in Irvine, hired David Hooker as its controller. Hooker most recently was a finance manager at Honey-

well Aerospace in Phoenix.
