Costa-Mesa based Marshall Advertising and Design appointed Aaron Roddick as computer production artist.


Banking and Finance

The Costa Mesa office of Comerica Bank-California promoted Tobias P. Halbmaier to corporate banking officer. Halbmaier was previously a credit analyst for the company. In addition, Fernando Loza, a former credit analyst for the company, was promoted to corporate banking officer at the Costa Mesa office.

Charles Nemet joined Brookstreet Securities Corp., Irvine, as a broker.

Lisa L. Stavro joined Unique Investment Corp, Anaheim, as executive vice president of transactions. Stavro comes to Unique from Bank of America Commercial Banking where she was senior vice president and manager.

Jack Baumann joined LoanTrader Inc., Irvine, as chief information officer. Prior to LoanTrader, Baumann was director of e-business development at Toshiba American Information Systems.


Business Services

George A. Wentz joined Berryman & Henigar, Santa Ana, as senior vice president. Wentz, whose experience has included working with city, county, state, and federal governments, will oversee the Santa Ana office.


Healthcare

MedCom USA hired Jeffery Yablon as its corporate vice president of sales. Yablon has experience in sales, marketing management and healthcare.


Hospitality

Michelle Nation was named director of convention services at the Doubletree Hotel Costa Mesa/Orange County. Nation came to the Doubletree from Hilton Anaheim, where she was assistant director of meetings and conventions. In her new post, Nation will oversee planning, communication, coordination and implementation of all conventions at the hotel.


Human Resources

Lee Hecht Harrison, Irvine, promoted Edwin Anderson from vice president of business development to senior vice president of client relations for the Southern California marketplace.


Insurance

Liz S. Robinson of Aon, Costa Mesa, was promoted to assistant vice president for employee benefits.


Law

John W. Kennedy Jr., former presiding judge of the San Bernardino County Superior Court, joined the Irvine office of JAMS, a firm that specializes in arbitration of legal matters. In addition to his two-year term as presiding judge, Kennedy has more than 20 years of dispute resolution experience and has taught judicial educational programs for the American Bar Association, the U.S. Department of Justice and the California State Bar Association, among others.

William Tanner joined Nossaman, Guthner, Knox & Elliott LLP, Irvine, as a partner. Tanner specializes in issues associated with the development of planned communities.


Manufacturing

The executive board of Burkert USA, Irvine, appointed Hal J. Reisiger president of the company’s U.S. operations. Burkert, a provider of fluid control systems that is a unit of Burkert GmbH, announced that Reisiger is the first American to head the company’s U.S. operations. In addition, Andrew Harris filled the newly created position of vice president of marketing at Burkert USA. The 12-year industry veteran will be responsible for new business development and marketing management within the company’s U.S. operations.


Marketing/ Public Relations

Gladstone International, Irvine, hired John Votava as account coordinator. The company provides media relations and marketing communications services for the financial, automotive and real estate industries.


Nonprofit

Terri Millson was elected president of the Planned Giving Roundtable of Orange County. Millson also is vice president of investments for the foundation services group of Sutro & Co. in Newport Beach.


Organizations

Jeff Zakaryan was elected president of the Orange County chapter of the Professional Coaches & Mentor Association. Zakaryan is the founder and president of Global Strategies, Dana Point.


Real Estate

Sares Regis Group, Irvine, appointed Gerald L. Hirneise Jr. director of land acquisition for the multi-family development division. Hirneise was most recently with Everest Realty Advisors where he gained experience in financing as well as debt and equity acquisition and development.

Mission Viejo resident Barbara Ekberg was promoted to senior account executive at Merit Property Management Inc., Mission Viejo. Ekberg will assist homeowner association boards of directors for several condominium and single-family projects.

Transwestern Commercial Services, Santa Ana, promoted Gregory P. May to senior vice president of leasing and marketing. May has 16 years of real estate experience and will oversee new business development opportunities in Orange and San Diego counties.


Technology

Simulation Sciences, Brea, promoted Michael Rowland to business development director. Simulation Sciences supplies commercial simulation software to the petroleum, petrochemical and industrial chemical industries. In addition, John Olson was appointed vice president of marketing. Most recently, Olson served as director of oil and gas marketing of Honeywell IAC.

Trevor Laurence was hired by Roland DGA Corp., Irvine, as sales manager for engraving products. Laurence brings over 15 years of experience in the engraving industry to Roland from Western Engravers Supply where he was international sales manager.

Yvonne S. Liu was hired as the controller for Infinilink Corp. Prior to joining Infinilink, Liu served as the chief financial officer and controller for Pacific Digital Corp in Irvine.

MTI Technology, Anaheim, announced the appointment of Edwin Hoffman vice president, North American support services. With 26 years of sales and software experience, Hoffman has managed customer support for Digital Corp and Cabletron Systems.

BuyNow named Mike Barmettler as vice president and Bill O’Connell as vice president of marketing.


Telecommunications

Melles Griot, a supplier of lasers and motion-control systems for the telecommunications industry, has hired Tricia Dunn as vice president of human resources for the Irvine office. In addition, Stephen Kidd Ph.D., was named business director for capital equipment.


Utilities

Ted F. Martin, president of the El Toro Water District board of directors, was appointed chairman of the Aliso Water Management Agency(AWMA), which provides sewer service to communities in portions of South Orange County.
