The UC Irvine Foundation elected Ted Smith chairman for a three-year term. Smith has been on the UCI Foundation board since 1994 and is chairman of the CEO Technology Advisory Board of the UCI Information and Computer Sciences Department and a former chairman of UCI’s Chief Executive Roundtable.

The California Association of Dental Plans elected Lee J. Harris president for a two-year term. Harris is vice president and chief dental officer of PacifiCare Dental & Vision. Prior to his election as CADP president, Harris was secretary and treasurer.
PacifiCare Dental & Vision/PacifiCare Dental & Vision Administrators appointed John W. Whalley vice president of sales and account management. Whalley, who has more than 20 years of sales and management experience in the healthcare, dental and managed care marketplace, comes from Humana/Employers Health Insurance, where he was director of sales for California.
