BANKING

Kathryn F. Williams was appointed assistant vice president, relationship manager, of Newport Beach-based Commerce-West Bank. Williams previously was an executive assistant at CommerceWest.

Union Bank of California named Michele E. O’Leary regional manager for Orange County commercial banking. She will serve as senior vice president.

CONSTRUCTION

Daystar Property Solutions Inc., a new unit of Daystar Builders Inc. of San Juan Capistrano, hired Diana Arnold as principal for the new group. Daystar Property provides maintenance and facilities services.

HEALTHCARE

Peter F. Bastone, chief executive of Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, was elected chair of the advocacy group of the California Healthcare Association’s board of trustees. The association represents hospitals and health systems members and their personnel. He will represent groups before government panels.

REAL ESTATE

Paula M. Mathews joined Charles Dunn Co. as a regional vice president. She will head management services in OC and the Inland Empire and will be based in Irvine. She will also be responsible for enhancing the company’s property management portfolio.

Gary L. Kermott, president of Santa Ana-based First American Title Insurance Co., was re-elected to the board of governors for the American Land Title Association. He will serve in that position until October. He has been president of First American Title since 1999. Also, First American named Barbie Hendon client manager for the company’s national commercial services group. She will be responsible for developing new business in OC. Hendon previously worked at Compaq Computer Corp. and Digital Equipment Corp. in Irvine.

Beazer Homes in Orange named Margarita Tom director of the company’s design center. She will manage the center and help homebuyers select options and upgrades to their new homes. She previously worked at KB Home of Southern California, David Spiegel & Associates and Western Pacific Housing.
