Pacific Alternator & Starter Inc., a Fountain Valley company that rebuilds automotive alternators and starters, appointed Donald Day president.
Day will direct the day-to-day operations of the 175-person company. He will focus on improvements in manufacturing, sales, and marketing. Pacific Alternator distributes to approximately 400 auto-parts retailers across the country.
“Our major goal is profitable growth in the coming years,” said Day.
Prior to joining Pacific Alternator, the Boston State University graduate was general manager of operations for American Racing Inc. and previously was the director of operations for Teledyne Inc.’s Teledyne Picco division in the city of Industry.
Pacific Alternator is a subsidiary of Anaheim-based Unique Investment Corp., an acquisition management company founded in 1993 that oversees more than 30 companies in the aerospace, manufacturing, high-tech, automotive and service sectors.
Day and his wife, Brenda, have two children and are active in the Boy and Girl Scouts.
