The pace of home price appreciation may have slowed in OC but it’s still breaking records.
The county’s median home price reached a high last month of $603,000, surpassing the $600,000 mark for the first time, La Jolla-based market tracker DataQuick Information Systems said Monday.
The median price represents an 11.7% gain from June 2004,a healthy increase compared to many other markets, but down from the 20% to 30% annual jumps at the local market’s peak in late 2003 and early 2004.
Further proof that OC has recovered from last summer’s lull: sales rose 3% in June to 4,898 houses and condominiums, versus a year earlier.
All six Southland counties saw some price appreciation, varying from 6.3% in San Diego to 30.9% in San Bernardino.
Sales were up in all counties but San Diego, which dipped 8.8% to 5,663 houses and condos.
