RAY BRADBURY, THE OCTAGENARIAN WRITER, VISIONARY AND SOUTHERN California treasure, made some provocative points at KOCE’s Aristeia Awards program the other night.
The best one, I thought, was that there is no real energy “crisis” in California, just a problem that could be easily corrected with a change in thinking.
We can have all of the safe, clean, cheap and efficient energy we need, Bradbury asserted. It’s called nuclear power.
“We must go to the French and ask them to come over here and teach us how to build the new nuclear stations and what to do with the waste,” he said. “And they’ll be glad to do it,” he added with a twinkle in his eye, “because they’re arrogant sons of bitches.”
Right on all counts.
