Multi Facets Labs Moves Optical HQ to Anaheim
Multi Facets Labs, a maker of high-end eyeglass lenses, has moved its headquarters from Corona to Anaheim.
The company has taken over a 10,000-square-foot building near Edison International Field. Multi Facets has 13 workers and plans to add about 15 in the next year, President Allen Vaughn said.
“We needed to move to a more centralized location, larger facility and streamline many of our processes,” Vaughn said.
The company’s new lab includes automated precision drilling, lens tracing and cutting machines. The new gear speeds up production that used to be done by hand, Vaughn said.
Multi Facets says it can fill orders in about a week now and has upped its production capacity to 1,000 pairs of glasses a day from 150.
“We now can handle all of the steps in-house,” Vaughn said. “We don’t have to rely on vendors, which can slow down production.”
Multi Facets was founded in 1981. Its eyewear has been featured in several movies, including “Charlie’s Angels.” Some Los Angeles Lakers wives used Multi Facets to engrave the players’ jersey numbers in sunglasses.
The company also sells its own line of rimless eyeglasses with custom engraving, rhinestones and frosts.
