Alliance Imaging Inc., which recently moved to Newport Beach from Anaheim, said Wednesday it bought another provider of medical scanning services for $20 million in cash and debt.
The company bought Medical Outsourcing Services LLC of Illinois to build up its positron emission tomography and computed tomography scanning businesses, particularly for cancer screening, Chief Executive Paul Viviano said.
Medical Outsourcing is based in the Chicago suburb of Naperville, Ill. Alliance said its annual revenue is about $20 million and that it serves 90 clients in nine Midwestern and Eastern states.
Alliance primarily runs diagnostic imaging centers for hospitals and doctors. It has yearly sales of about $450 million.
The company has moved to boost its cancer business, including a $36 million deal for eight cancer treatment centers in late 2007.
