Two of Orange County’s larger healthcare companies saw a bit of cross pollination Wednesday as Fullerton-based Beckman Coulter Inc. named Jim Mazzo as a new member of its board of directors.
Mazzo, chief executive of Santa Ana-based Advanced Medical Optics Inc., is set to join the board Feb. 14.
He’s set to serve on Beckman’s nominating and corporate governance committee and will stand for election in 2008, Beckman said in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
Beckman makes gear used by laboratories running tests for doctors, as well as for researchers.
Advanced Medical makes contact lens solutions and eye surgery devices.
