The Reef Check Foundation honored Greg MacGillivray at its annual Reef Rescue Gala. MacGillivray is a filmmaker and owner of MacGillivray Freeman Films in Laguna Beach. He received the Spirit of the Reef Award for his commitment to ocean conservation and lifetime work documenting the beauty of reefs and oceans. He produced “Coral Reef Adventure,” “The Living Sea” and “Dolphins,” among other films.

Donna and John Crean were honored with a star on the Anaheim/Orange County Walk of Stars in Anaheim. The Creans founded Fleetwood Enterprise Inc. in 1950 and the company remains one of the nation’s largest designers and manufacturers of recreational vehicles. They created the Crean Family Foundation to donate money to local nonprofit organizations and educational institutions.

The Orange County Community Foundation added the Muckenthaler family, William and Joan Cvengros and Sister Eileen McNerney to its Philanthropy Hall of Fame. Sister McNerney founded Santa Ana nonprofit Taller San Jose. Peggy Muckenthaler Albert received the award on behalf of her family, which donated its homes in 1965 to create what now is known as the Muckenthaler Cultural Center. William and Joan Cvengros were recognized for their support of Mission San Juan Capistrano and the Boys and Girls Club of Capistrano Valley.

The Honorable Nancy Wieben Stock received the Franklin G. West Award from the Orange County Bar Association. The West Award goes to an outstanding lawyer or judge who has made contributions to advance and elevate justice and law. Stock is a presiding judge for the Superior Court of California, County of Orange.

Maternal Outreach Management Systems Orange County founder Dottie Andrews was honored in the outstanding founder category at a National Philanthropy Day celebration. Andrews was a founding board member for Healthy Smiles for Kids of Orange County and cofounded the Parent-to-Parent support program for Children’s Hospital of Orange County.

The American Society of Civil Engineers honored Paul Taylor with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Taylor is deputy chief executive of the Orange County Transportation Authority. He has experience in the planning, engineering and construction of various transportation programs for the county.

University of California, Irvine, received a Governor’s Environmental and Economic Leadership Award for its sustainable transportation program. The award recognizes leadership in conserving state resources and protecting the environment. The university’s program tries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate climate change. Additionally, UC Irvine Police Sergeants Tony Frisbee and Shaun Devlin received Investigator of the Year awards from the Orange County Financial Crimes Investigator Association. The detectives investigated and arrested suspects in a series of identity theft cases.
