The Waltos Group, part of Milwaukee-based Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co., gave its Quiet Achievers Award to Paul Motenko, cofounder of Huntington Beach-based BJ’s Restaurants Inc. Motenko has been a long-time supporter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Southern California. He has raised millions of dollars at fundraising events such as the Pipeline to a Cure. His daughter has had cystic fibrosis for 22 years.
The Anaheim Ducks and Honda Center received a Prism Award from the Public Relations Society of America for its official television show, The Element. The show was recognized as the region’s Best Ongoing Corporate Communication/Entertainment program. The Element is a half-hour show that promotes the Ducks and entertainers that perform at Honda Center.
Mission Hospital’s Rapid Response Team received the Codman Award from The Joint Commission in recognition of safe and quality care. The Rapid Response Team consists of nurses who provide intensive care. The team has reduced mortality rates by 40%.
Irvine-based EdgeTech Consulting Inc. was named to Inc. Magazine’s list of the 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies in the U.S. EdgeTech specializes in providing information technology consultants.
A design by LPA Inc. in Irvine was honored by the Structural Engineering Association of California with an Award of Merit in New Construction. The design team for the American Career College project included: Kenny Lee, John Wilson, Faby Medez and Tyler Dick. Also, California Construction magazine named LPA Inc. one of the top California design firms in its October issue.

The designation means that U.S. CAD has a proven track record of outstanding customer service, technical expertise and knowledge of each industry.
