Ray Baird of Irvine-based RiechesBaird has been named in BtoB Magazine’s Who’s Who in B-to-B for being a leader in business-to-business strategy, branding development and marketing. Baird was recognized for leading the agency’s growth in new areas in 2005, including a restructuring of the shop’s business model. The magazine selected 100 people based on top performance on the client side, agency side or in supporting industries.
Lake Forest-based Professional Community Management of California Inc.,a community association manager,was honored with three Vision awards from the California Association of Community Managers, a trade group for real estate managers. General Manager Ed Vitrano received the award for Excellence in Services; Senior Manager Brenda Zizzo received the award for Creative Solutions in Problem Solving; and General Manager Tim Peckman received the award for Leadership in Creative Solutions for Problem Solving.
Sister Eileen McNerney of Santa Ana was one of six recipients of the first-ever James Irvine Foundation Leadership award. The honor recognized her work in opening Santa Ana’s Taller San Jose, an education and job training center for high-risk youth. As part of the award, recipients received $125,000 to $150,000 for their representing organizations.
The city of Clare-mont’s Architectural Commission awarded Bauer and Wiley Architects of Newport Beach the 25th annual Excellence in Design award. The firm was honored in the categories of sustainability, new construction and landscaping work on the Richard C. Seaver Biology building at Pomona College.
The South Orange County Community College District received a Protos award in the annual report category from the Orange County chapter of the Public Relations Society of America for the district’s annual report to the community 2005-06. The report details how the district provides a positive and major impact on the county. Protos awards recognize the best public relations work in 2005 in OC.
The YWCA North Orange County named California State University, Fullerton, graduate Michelle Fagen and Cal State Fullerton student Olga Moreno recipients of the Thurmond College Scholarship Fund award. The honor includes a $2,000 scholarship. Both women’s lives have been affected by domestic violence, which they work against as activists. They were recognized for striving to use their education for positive change.
Junior Achievement of Orange County/Inland Empire California announced Option One Mortgage Corp. as one of the winners of the President’s Volunteer Service award. President Bush’s Council on Service and Civic Participation created the award program as a way to honor Americans’ volunteer service. Option One has helped Junior Achievement expand its programs, which focus on business, ethics, entrepreneurship, financial literacy and career development.
Seven attorneys from the Orange County office of Snell & Wilmer were named Rising Stars by Southern California Super Lawyers magazine. They were: Tiffanny Brosnan, Gregory Carpenter, Samantha Feld, Jorge Martinez, Elizabeth McNulty, Michael Reynolds and Ketan Vakil. Rising Stars are selected by a panel of top attorneys throughout Southern California. Vakil also was named in Lawdragon magazine’s 500 New Stars, Worlds 2006 list. The Lawdragon 500 is a list of leading attorneys in the country.
The International Institute of Business Analysis recently endorsed UC Irvine Extension’s Business Analysts program as a charter endorsed education provider. UCI Extension submitted three courses in business analysis for evaluation, and all three were endorsed by the institute as part of its pilot project to recognize education providers. The institute is a worldwide professional group that develops and maintains high standards for practicing business analysis and certifying practitioners.
Mission San Juan Capistrano employee Pat March recently received the San Juan Capistrano Chamber of Commerce’s 2006 Ambassadore of the Year award for her dedication as a volunteer at chamber events. She has been a docent at the mission since 1991 and an employee since 1999.
