Korean Business Fair Organized for Irvine

Orange County’s Korean business community was set to hold KASE-KOVA Summit Spring 2004 this past Friday, bringing together U.S. and South Korean technology companies with venture capitalists and investors.

Companies slated to attend included: Samsung Electro-Mechanics, South Korean electronics maker HUMAX Company Ltd., the Orange Coast Venture Group and chipmaker Conexant Systems Inc., formerly of Newport Beach and now based in New Jersey.

The event was set to include executives from Samsung USA, Qualcomm Inc., LG Electronics Inc. and Silicon Valley Bank. The South Korean government sponsored the event, and government officials from that country were set to be in attendance, along with the Los Angeles-based Korean consulate general.

Irvine mayor Larry Agran also was slated to make an appearance, according to event organizers.

The event took place at the Irvine Marriot.
