What to do with those old forklifts, punch presses and industrial laser systems?
Santa Ana-based Industrial Trader magazine, which will launch June 1, has a place for them in its free monthly classified magazine that sells used industrial machinery, equipment, tools and supplies.
The magazine, whose initial run will be 25,000 copies, also features employment advertisements, auction listings, and a calendar section. It also maintains a Web site: www.industrialtrader.net.
The publishers have contracted with the Orange County Register in Santa Ana to print the magazine, and it will be distributed free at newsstands in industrial parks and machine shops in Orange County and Los Angeles County. Subscriptions are also available for $24.95.
Ads cost $20 per issue or $35 for merchandisers including a photo for a two-month run.
Founder Tom Gill, who owns import-export business Amtec USA in Santa Ana, created the magazine because he saw a void in the marketplace.
“If the concept works here, we will cookie-cut it throughout the nation,” Gill said.
The company hired John McCarthy, former national sales manager for Dealer News in Cleveland, Ohio, as its publisher, and two other staffers for the newspaper.
Industrial Trader has no affiliation to the Auto Trader publications.
