Santa Ana-based title insurer First American Corp. said Wednesday it’s taken a 38% stake in a provider of real estate information in Australia and New Zealand.
Terms weren’t disclosed.
Brisbane-based RP Data Ltd. provides brokers, developers, appraisers and others with ownership and sales data as well as photos and digital maps.
The move is part of First American’s Asia expansion, according to Chief Executive Parker Kennedy.
“We are leveraging our assets and operations to expand globally,” he said.
First American is looking to RP Data as a base for expanding in Asia for its First American Real Estate Solutions unit, which offers similar services.
