Edwards Lifesciences Corp. said Monday that it is reorganizing its businesses and as a result three of its corporate officers will be leaving the company.
Corporate vice presidents Anita Bessler, who oversaw Edwards’ core heart valve business; Stuart Foster, who oversaw critical care and vascular business; and Alex Martin, who oversaw the development and expansion of Edwards’ North American sales and marketing unit, will be leaving in midyear, Edwards said in a release.
The company wants to make a push with its customer-focused business units, according to Edwards.
Bessler, who joined Edwards in 1988, and Foster, who’s been with the company since 1994, will continue in ongoing advisory roles. Martin, who came to Edwards in 2004, will pursue other opportunities upon his departure.
Edwards’ move to break down its business into specific units simplifies the organization, Chief Executive Michael Mussallem said in a news release.
