For the nine-month period ended Nov. 1, the fast-food chain operator reported earnings of $32.7 million on system-wide sales of $1.514 billion compared to earnings of $64.2 million on sales of $1.461 billion the previous year.
Pacific Sunwear of California, Anaheim, reported sales of $124 million for the third quarter of fiscal 1999 ended Oct. 31, compared with sales of $91.8 million for the same period a year ago. For the nine months ended Oct. 31, the company reported sales of $305.9 million compared with sales of $226.1 million for the prior-year nine-month period.
Quiksilver Inc., Huntington Beach, reported earnings of $7.8 million on sales of $124.5 million for the fiscal fourth quarter ended Oct. 31 compared with earnings of $6.3 million on sales of $104.4 million in the prior fourth quarter. For the fiscal year, the surfwear company reported earnings of $26.6 million on sales of $443.7 million, compared with earnings of $18 million on sales of $316.1 million.
Meade Instruments Corp., Irvine, posted earnings of $7.7 million on revenue of $63.7 million for the fiscal third quarter ended Nov. 30, compared with earnings of $3.9 million on revenue of $31.2 million in the previous third quarter. For the nine-month period, the company reported earnings of $11.1 million on revenue of $105.0 million, compared with earnings of $5.1 million on revenue of $61.5 million in the prior-year period.
The Cooper Cos., Irvine, posted earnings of $7.5 million on revenue of $45.2 million for the fourth fiscal quarter ended Oct. 31, compared with earnings of $15.2 million on revenue of $40.6 million in the prior fourth quarter. For the fiscal year, the company reported earnings of $25.1 million on revenue of $165.3 million, compared with earnings of $39.8 million on revenue of $147.2 million in fiscal 1998.
Barbeques Galore, Irvine, reported third-quarter earnings of $716,000 on sales of $42.2 million for the fiscal third quarter ended Oct. 31, compared with earnings of $515,000 on sales of $34.8 million for the year-ago quarter. For the nine-month period, the barbecue retailer reported earnings of $722,000 on sales of $113.4 million compared to a year ago when it reported earnings of $841,000 on sales of $92.9 million.
Procom Technology Inc., Irvine, posted a net loss of $1.6 million on revenue of $18.6 million, compared with earnings of $1.4 million on revenue of $30.4 million in the prior first quarter.
Dense-Pac Microsystems Inc., Garden Grove, reported earnings of $817,000 on revenue of $7.5 million for the fiscal third quarter ended Nov. 30, compared with a net loss of $260,000 on revenue of $3.4 million in the previous third quarter. For the nine-month period, the company posted earnings of $1.7 million on revenue of $20.9 million, compared with a net loss of $3.7 million on revenue of $8.4 million in the prior-year period.
