Disney Bringing Cruises Back

By Sandi Cain

Walt Disney Co. said Thursday it’s bringing its Disney Magic cruise ship back to the Southland next year.

Disney Magic first came to California in 2005 as part of Disneyland’s 50th anniversary marketing push.

Next year, Disney plans to offer 12 seven-day Mexican Riviera cruises with weekly departures from the Port of Los Angeles from May 25 and Aug. 10.

Disney is pitching packages that include visits to its Anaheim theme parks and hotels.

Also being offered are two 15-night “repositioning” cruises through the Panama Canal to bring the ship to Los Angeles and return it to Port Canaveral, Fla.

The company plans to start taking reservations on Jan. 31.
