Newport Beach-based chipmaker Conexant Systems Inc. has hired a chief financial officer from Freescale Semiconductor Inc., a Motorola Inc. spinoff based in Austin, Texas.
Karen Roscher is set to join Conexant on Monday as senior vice president and chief financial officer.
She replaces J. Scott Blouin, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities, according to Conexant.
Roscher is set to report to Dan Artusi, Conexant chief executive who joined in July.
Artusi and Roscher both worked for Motorola’s chip unit, which later became Freescale.
For most of Artusi’s career, he was with Motorola’s chip division, serving as vice president and general manager or various units.
Roscher spent 26 years in a various financial positions at Motorola and Freescale, which spun off in 2004 and was bought Blackstone Group LP and others in 2006.
Most recently, she served as Freescale’s vice president of corporate financial planning and analysis and was responsible for financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
