After merging its Laguna Hills office with one in Newport Beach, CB Richard Ellis’ South Orange County operations reported another banner year with more than $1.6 billion in deals.
“We saw increased productivity of our people (in 1999) because we were better able to leverage our people and resources,” said Sherry Bower, managing director of CB Richard Ellis in Newport Beach. “Now we have all of our product and client experts under one roof.”
With more than 100 employees based in Newport Beach, CB Richard Ellis dominated the brokerage field locally in 1999. In fact, the runner-up in terms of dollar volume was the company’s Anaheim office, which posted $719 million in sales and also has more than 100 employees.
“The fundamentals are good and technology is becoming a bigger factor in real estate in terms of bringing us faster and better information,” said Bower. “We saw low interest rates and healthy job growth keeping the real estate industry strong in 1999.”
