Irvine-based Comarco Inc.’s stock jumped more than 6% Wednesday after the company reported it returned to profitability during the quarter ended July 31.
Comarco,a maker of wireless testing products, notebook power supplies and roadside call boxes,posted a profit of $327,000 for the quarter, versus a year-ago loss of $1.7 million, excluding a one-time charge.
The company posted a $1.5 million loss in its prior quarter ended April 30.
Comarco said revenue jumped 67% to $11.1 million compared to the year-ago quarter. Revenue was up 40% from the prior quarter.
Growth came from all the businesses, including the call box unit, which saw sales jump 77% to $3.5 million during the quarter.
The call-box business won $11 million in contracts during the past nine months.
The company’s largest business,wireless testing products,saw a 66% rise to $5.9 million in sales.
Comarco said it expects sales of $45 million to $48 million for the 12 months ended Jan. 31, up from $29 million in the prior period. The company counts a market value of $61 million.
