Survey of 1,009 non-poor uninsured by Field Research Corp.
Sixty-eight percent of non-poor uninsured (those with incomes above $33,000 for a family of four) believe the price of health insurance to be greater than the actual cost of plans available where they live. Though only 10% are eligible for health coverage at work, 81% are employed. And 92% have purchased insurance other than health. Forty-three percent said they do not believe health insurance is a good value and 48% said good health was a reason for not purchasing health coverage. But when presented with actual cost figures for plans available to them, 53% said they would have an interest in purchasing at least one of those plans.
