Apple Computer Inc. was set to open a retail store in Fashion Island on Saturday.
The store, at 367 Newport Center Drive, is one of 18 the computer maker has opened nationwide in a bid to gain market share.
Like other Apple stores, the Fashion Island location features Apple computers, other hardware and software.
There are areas where shoppers can use Macs with digital cameras, electronic organizers, digital music players and other consumer and professional devices. Apple also was set to open a store in Aspen Grove, Colo., on Saturday.
