Advanced Medical Optics Inc. Thursday named Chief Executive James Mazzo chairman.
Mazzo replaces William Grant, who’s set to remain a board member.
Mazzo, 49, has led the Santa Ana-based contact lens care and eye device company since it was spun off from Irvine-based drug maker Allergan Inc. in 2002.
Grant, 81, had been chairman since the Advanced Medical spinoff.
Advanced Medical also named James Rollans, another original director, as presiding director.
Rollans, 63, is a former director and executive of Fluor Corp., the engineering firm that recently moved its headquarters to the Dallas area from Aliso Viejo.
