Henry Segerstrom, managing partner of Costa Mesa-based C.J. Segerstrom & Sons and one of the architects of modern Orange County, was honored in New York earlier this month. Segerstrom received the Carnegie Hall Medal of Excellence at a gala at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. He was awarded the medal for his “dedication to developing the unique cultural landscape of Orange County” and for championing the arts, according to Carnegie Hall’s board. Segerstrom attended with his wife, Elizabeth. About 100 others from OC were on hand. Financier R.J. Brandes, and wife Gloria Brandes, of Costa Mesa’s BB Dakota, served as co-chairs. Other locals included Zee Allred and Wylie and Bette Aitken.
