Clean Energy Fuels to Open RNG Station for Amazon, Local Fleets

Ohio station first of its kind

Newport Beach-based Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (Nasdaq: CLNE) will formally open a new renewable gas (RNG) station in Ohio next week to serve Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN) freight trucks and provide access to local fleets.

Clean Energy Fuels said in a statement today its Groveport station is the first station of its kind in the country, built exclusively for Amazon and other heavy-duty truck fleets to fuel with RNG. Other similar stations are under construction around the country.

Clean Energy agreed to supply Amazon with RNG fuel for its trucks under an agreement signed last year. Clean Energy’s CEO is Andrew Littlefair.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for Sept. 28.

Shares in Clean Energy rose 1.7% to $6.17 apiece for a market cap of $1.4 billion.
