Costa Mesa-based defense contractor Anduril Industries said it’s expanding into Huntsville, Ala., an aerospace and defense hub.
Anduril, founded by OC entrepreneur Palmer Luckey, also said on its website it has hired retired Army Lieutenant General Neil Thurgood as senior vice president and senior site executive in Huntsville.
Thurgood will be responsible for leading business strategy and delivery of critical company priorities, such as counter-unmanned air systems, air and missile defense, tactical weapons and mission systems, and command and control capabilities.
Several U.S. defense contractors have facilities in Huntsville, including Lockheed Martin and Raytheon, while it is often called “Rocket City” due to its key role in space exploration.
