Peter Ueberroth, the former Los Angeles Olympics czar, ex-baseball commissioner and current head of Newport Beach-based investment firm The Contrarian Group, has been appointed to Bank of America Corp.’s board of directors.
Ueberroth, who lives with his family in Laguna Beach, also is chairman of Spokane, Wash.-based Ambassadors International Inc., and a director of Coca-Cola Co. and Hilton Hotels Corp. He also oversaw the purchase of Pebble Beach Co. and serves as owner and co-chairman of the golf course operator.
In the 1980s, Ueberroth was Major League Baseball’s commissioner and served as president of the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee. The addition of Ueberroth brings the Bank of America board to 18 members.
