Chipmaker Names Senior Executives
Newport Beach chipmaker Conexant Systems Inc. named Lewis Brewster, executive vice president and chief operating officer, as general manager of the company’s broadband media processing business.
He’ll continue to be responsible for operations, quality and information technology.
Brewster, 41, joined Rockwell Semiconductor Systems in 1991, which became Conexant when it was spun off from Rockwell International Corp. in 1999.
In 2004, Brewster was named executive vice president and chief operating officer, titles he held before Conexant’s buy of GlobespanVirata Inc.
Brewster received his master’s in business administration from Stanford University and a bachelor’s in electrical engineering and biomedical engineering from Duke University.
Conexant also named Sailesh Chittipeddi as senior vice president of global operations.
Chittipeddi, 43, is set to report to Brewster. He is responsible for global supply planning, supplier relationship management and operations systems and processes.
Chittipeddi has held senior operations positions with Agere Systems Inc., Lucent Technologies Inc. and AT & T; Microelectronics. He holds a master’s in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin, a master’s and a doctorate in physics from Ohio State University and a master’s in physics from Northern Illinois University.

ASSOCIATIONS
Collette Morse, a senior project manager in RBF Consulting’s planning department in Irvine, was elected commissioner of the American Planning Association’s professional institute. She is set to serve a four-year term at the American Institute of Certified Planners for region VI, representing members from California, Nevada and Pacific U.S. territories. She will guide certification, ethics, professional development and accreditation policies. The association is a nonprofit and research group that represents 39,000 practicing planners, officials and citizens involved with urban and rural planning issues.
AUTOMOTIVE
Dale Vaughan joined Cummins Cal Pacific LLC in Irvine as director of human resources. Vaughan previously was with Beech Street Corp. for six years. Cummins Cal Pacific is a unit of Cummins Inc., which has several divisions that design, make, distribute and service large diesel engines.
ENGINEERING
Huitt-Zollars in Irvine, an engineering, architectural and planning firm promoted Joseph R. Johnson to associate. Johnson has more than 19 years of experience as a civil engineer.
FINANCE
Alliance Equity Mergers & Acquisitions in Newport Beach named Gail Chafe director of business development. Chafe has more than 25 years of experience in public relations, advertising and marketing in various industries. She is set to advise executives on exit strategy planning, including selling their businesses.
GOVERNMENT
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed former congressman Jim Rogan, of counsel at Irvine’s Preston Gates & Ellis LLP, to the state watchdog agency, Little Hoover Commission. Rogan also is an adjunct professor at Chapman University School of Law.
REAL ESTATE
Santa Ana-based Triple Net Properties LLC, which pools together investors to buy real estate, appointed the following: Jerry Geiger as vice president, national accounts; Greg Mausz as vice president, sales operations; and Philip Taylor as managing director, public programs.
US Advisor LLC, which pools together investors to buy real estate, named H. Michael Schwartz co-president in the Ladera Ranch office. Schwartz served as vice chairman of US Advisor and president of US Commercial since July 2004.
