St. Joseph Health Boss to Retire

Irvine-based St. Joseph Health said today that longtime Chief Executive Deborah Proctor will retire from her post at the end of 2015.

Proctor, who had worked at the Catholic hospital operator in her early career, became its chief executive 10 years ago.

St. Joseph Health has launched several transformative projects under Proctor’s direction, including the 2012 establishment of an integrated regional healthcare delivery network with Newport Beach-based Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian.

St. Joseph Health said in a release that Proctor’s successor would be determined by a process led by its board and sponsor, the St. Joseph Health Ministry, and would be named later this year.

“We expect a smooth transition as we express our gratitude to Deborah and take on the most difficult task of finding a leader to follow in her footsteps,” said Bill Noce, chairman of St. Joseph Health’s board.
