Irvine-based Masimo Corp. (Nasdaq: MASI) has added Walt Disney Co.’s former chief executive Bob Chapek to its board of directors.
Chapek ran the Burbank-based entertainment company, which oversees the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, from February 2020 to November 2022. He was succeeded by Bob Iger.
He previously had held leadership roles across the organization serving as chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products and of the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Chapek also worked in Disney Consumer Products and Walt Disney Studios prior.
Before Disney, Chapek was at H.J. Heinz Company and J. Walter Thompson in brand management and advertising, respectively.
“As we execute our hospital to home strategy, we expect to benefit greatly from Bob’s role on our board,” Masimo Chairman and CEO Joe Kiani said in a statement.
Masimo, maker of medical devices, is currently valued at $6.6 billion. Shares slightly increased to $124.74 during midday trading.
