Newport Beach-based Glidewell Laboratories Inc. said Friday that it would buy IOS Technologies Inc. of San Diego for an undisclosed price.
Glidewell provides dental laboratory products and services.
IOS makes the FastScan digital impression system used by dentists to help in the creation of single-unit crowns, bridges, inlays and onlays.
The two companies have had a long relationship. Glidewell and IOS entered a joint venture in 2007, shortly after the latter’s establishment.
Glidewell and IOS launched the IOS FastScan in 2010. Glidewell said in a press release that it has supported continued development of FastScan, as well as marketing, sales and continuing education efforts.
The deal is expected to close Sept. 1.
