Stitch Fix Inc. named Liz Williams, president of Taco Bell International, to its board, noting her experience with branding and foreign markets.
“We are just at the beginning of our international journey as a company and Liz’s insight and expertise will be invaluable,” Katrina Lake, founder and Chief Executive of Stitch Fix, said in a statement.
The San Francisco-based company (Nasdaq: SFIX) is a monthly subscription service that delivers “apparel, shoes and accessories, hand-selected by Stitch Fix stylists” It trades at about a $2 billion market cap.
“I’ve always been passionate about retail both personally and professionally, and I’m fascinated by the [Stitch Fix business] model,” Williams said.
Taco Bell leaders have been tapped for board service in the past. Former Chief Executive Brian Niccol, now head of Newport Beach-based Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc., was named to the Harley-Davidson board, on which he still serves, in July 2016. The motorcycle company noted his the brand’s reach and its resonance with younger customers.
Taco Bell is the largest OC-based restaurant chain with more than $10 billion in systemwide sales.
