Yum Brands Inc. has appointed Taco Bell’s Chief Executive Sean Tresvant as its new chief consumer officer.
Tresvant will remain at Taco Bell, Orange County’s largest restaurant chain by systemwide sales, with additional responsibilities across all restaurant brands owned by Yum (NYSE: YUM) including Habit Burger & Grill, Pizza Hut and KFC.
“Sean is a talented and visionary business leader, and Taco Bell’s consumer-centric growth is undeniable,” Yum’s CEO-Designate and Chief Financial & Franchise Officer Chris Turner said in a statement.
Three executives at Yum were promoted in preparation for Turner’s start as the operator’s new CEO, effective Oct. 1. Tresvant has been assigned “to enhance consumer insights, drive brand relevance, and foster innovation that resonates with consumers worldwide,” according to Yum.
Tresvant first joined Irvine-based Taco Bell in 2022 as global brand officer after serving as chief marketing officer of Nike’s Jordan brand. He succeeded Mark King as CEO in 2024.
Yum, headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, noted that Tresvant has led the fast-casual restaurant chain to record positive same-store sales growth every quarter of his tenure. Taco Bell in August reported same-store sales were up 4% in the second quarter.
