Taco Bell Corp. promoted Marisa Thalberg to chief marketing officer.
Thalberg served as chief brand engagement officer since joining the Irvine-based restaurant chain in May. She replaces Chris Brandt, who recently resigned to pursue other prospects.
Prior to joining Taco Bell Thalberg spent eight years as vice president of corporate digital and content marketing for the Estee Lauder Cos. Her resume also includes executive roles at Kaplan Thaler Group,
Sure Fit Inc., Unilever Cosmetics International and Revlon Inc.
“With Chris’ departure, we are fortunate to have proven leadership in place to continue our great momentum,” Taco Bell Chief Executive Brian Niccol said in a statement. “I’m confident that Marisa’s deep brand experience and unique background will allow us to continue our position as a brand people passionately trust and champion.”
Taco Bell spent more than $350 million in 2014 on advertising in U.S. according to Kantar Media.
