A new franchising agreement for Tustin-based Pieology Pizzeria is set to help it expand in the Florida market.
The chain said it struck a deal with Pizzarium LLC to develop an area that stretches from south Boca Raton to Daytona Beach and Volusia County, in addition to an area running from Melbourne to Lakeland and Polk County.
The first location to open under the group is expected to be in Orlando.
Pizzarium is comprised of a partnership between restaurant operators Gorrin Group and Corporación Multifranquicias.
Gorrin has under its belt more than 200 Subway, Burger King, Papa John’s and Quiznos locations in Venezuela, Panama and Puerto Rico.
Meanwhile Corporación Multifranquicias operates in several restaurant segments including fast casual, quick service, full service, bars and nightclubs totaling 120 in Venezuela and Panama.
Pieology ranked No. 16 on this year’s Business Journal list of the largest OC restaurant operators with 2019 systemwide sales of $125 million, across 130 locations.
