American Restaurant Holdings Inc. in Irvine will open two company-owned Muscle Maker Grill restaurants in Orange County in 2016.
The locations at the Jamboree Promenade Shopping Center in Irvine and City Place Shopping Center in Santa Ana will be New Jersey-based Muscle Maker’s first appearance in southern California. It has two other restaurants in the San Francisco Bay area and operates 57 locations nationwide.
American Restaurant bought Muscle Maker last year. The company’s chains in Orange County include Fresca’s Mexican Grill and Jojo’s Pizza Kitchen; it also runs a couple stand-alone restaurants.
The chain last April said an OC operator would also open 10 franchised locations here over the next five years.
Muscle Maker Grill gears its fast casual menu toward “nutritious alternatives to traditional meals.”
