Newport Beach-based Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is ramping hiring with an aim to bring on another 15,000 employees through its upcoming career day and use of TikTok Resumes.
The chain, with more than 2,800 restaurants, said it plans to host a career day throughout the country July 15, marking the second time it’s hosted such an event. The hiring ramp is to address the increase in demand and the expected growth, the company said.
Chipotle also said it will utilize TikTok, where a growing number of people are learning career tips and connecting with prospective employers. The company said interested workers could submit their video resumes, using #tiktokresumes in their post’s caption, through July 31.
“Given the current hiring climate and our strong growth trajectory, it’s essential to find new platforms to directly engage in meaningful career conversations with Gen Z,” Chief Diversity, Inclusion and People Officer Marissa Andrada said in a statement.
Chipotle, with a recent market cap of $45 billion, said it has hired more than 82,000 so far this year. The company said it currently counts more than 97,000 employees.
