California Pizza Kitchen Bought by Investor Group

New owners include Consortium Brand Partners, Eldridge Industries, Aurify Brands, Convive Brands

California Pizza Kitchen, also known as CPK, is being acquired this month by an investor group led by Consortium Brand Partners with Eldridge Industries, Aurify Brands, and Convive Brands.

Convive Brands will direct global operations and be the master franchisor for more than 120 CPK restaurants. The firm’s Chief Executive Jon Weber has also been named CEO of CPK, succeeding current executive Jeff Warne.

Reuters first reported that a deal, worth under $300 million, for the Costa Mesa-based casual dining chain was in the works at the end of November.

“We are thrilled to partner with Eldridge Industries, Aurify Brands, and Convive Brands to build on CPK’s rich heritage by expanding its global restaurant footprint, growing its grocery presence, and exploring new product categories that celebrate California creativity and flavor,” Consortium co-founder Jonathan Greller said in a statement.

The incoming owners reported that CPK generated same-store sales growth in 2025 “that outpaced the broader industry.”

Convive CEO Jon Weber added: “As we look to realize its exceptional potential, our focus remains on honoring CPK’s legacy, empowering the teams who drive its success every day, and welcoming the next generation of guests to experience the flavors and hospitality that will continue to set it apart.”

The company’s systemwide sales were $406 million in 2024, down 10% from the year before, according to Technomic Inc. data. The chain is the eighth-largest OC-based restaurant brand by revenue.
