Anaheim-based food packaging company L&L Foods Inc. is planning to open a $3.1 million distribution facility in Wilmington, Ohio.
L&L packages various food products, ranging from salad dressings and spice blends to croutons and dried fruits. It packages about 10 million units of finished products a month.
The new facility is about 103,000 square feet and lead to about 100 jobs, according to the Dayton Development Coalition.
L&L was founded in 2008 by John Pooley and Scott Lebda, who serve as chief executive and chief operating officer, respectively.
The duo are former executives at Irvine-based food manufacturing and packaging company Golden State Foods Corp., one of the largest private companies headquartered in Orange County.
Pooley and Lebda also served in management roles at Omaha, Neb.-based ConAgra Foods Inc.
L&L was recapitalized in late 2012 with an undisclosed amount of investment from CIC Partners LP, a Dallas-based private equity firm. CIC typically invests in companies that have between $10 million and $500 million in revenues.
