Costa Mesa-based Pacific Mercantile Bancorp has named John Clark, a partner at private equity firm Westar Capital LLC, to its board of directors.
Clark also has been appointed a director of the company’s Pacific Mercantile Bank subsidiary.
Clark has served as a partner at the Costa Mesa private equity firm since 1995.
Westar’s founding partner, George Argyros of real estate investor Arnel & Affiliates, also is a director of Pacific Mercantile.
Clark held management positions at manufacturing companies prior to joining Westar. He also worked as a certified public account earlier in his career.
Pacific Mercantile is among the largest banks based in Orange County, with assets of about $1 billion.
